Nail Polish! Nail Polish! Nail Polish!

Just wanted to share how I store my nail polish. I have been looking to get a wall rack for almost a year now and finally decided to just go ahead and purchase one. Thankfully, waiting all that time paid off because when I first took a look at these online, they were about $60 bucks! I paid half the price!

Check it out! :)

Quick Product Review: Sally Hansen Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit

This product is a fast, at-home solution to hair removal. It comes with pre-waxed and pre-cut strips in various sizes which can be used for the underarms, face, legs, and body. It also comes with a finishing oil that is used to clean and soothe the skin after the hair removal.

Before using the wax strip, the skin area that will be waxed must be cleaned with soap and water. You must warm the wax by rubbing the strip between your hands. Once the wax is warm, you peel the strip apart and it gives you two wax-strips to use. The strip should be placed firmly in the direction of your hair growth. Once the strip is placed, while holding the skin with one hand, you pull off quickly with the other hand in the opposite direction of hair growth. You can repeat the steps, if needed, and reuse the strip until it is no longer effective. After waxing, use the oil to soothe and clean the skin area.

I have purchased this quite a while ago and have about three strips left. I have used this product for my upper lip only. Although it does have a picture of the eyebrows and the bikini area on the box, I would not suggest to use this on those sensitive areas, especially the eyebrows, because it is a little harsh on the skin. One thing that annoys me about this product is the fact I must repeat the steps several times because it does not remove all the hair. It was frustrating because the wax would get stickier each time and would make it more difficult to repeat the steps. BUT... I thought, for a cheap waxing kit, it lived up to my low expectations. I preferred this solution over paying to get it done at a salon or shaving - which I know some girls do (Why?!). I used to be pretty satisfied with this product but during my last few uses (which was months and months ago) I noticed my skin became red and dry and would take a couple days to heal. Not a good look at all. Even after using the soothing oil, my skin still felt irritated. I had to make sure to carry around moisturizer just in case I needed it throughout the day. I realized that maybe it was taking my skin off along with the hair - which was not very much hair at all since I had to repeat the steps many times. Why go through the pain if it did not get the job completely done anyway? If I were ever to use the last three strips (highly unlikely) then it would have to be during a day off when I do not have to leave the house because I don't want to risk being seen with a wounded upper lip. With that said... I will not purchase this product again.

Anybody have any quick and easy, preferably painless, hair removal solutions? Please share! :)

Beauty Products: Regrets (My First Post!)

Hey, all :) I couldn't decide on how to kick off my blog! So, I thought I'd start it by sharing my thoughts on two beauty products that I regret spending money on. Thanks to Sephora, I was not forced to live with my regret! :)

Smashbox
Photo Finish Light
Foundation Primer
I bought this primer a while back. From the reviews I have read and seen, I thought it was going to be the best primer ever. (I got sold!) During the first few uses, I liked it. It gave my skin a smoother surface. I purchased the "Photo Finish LIGHT" because I have oily skin and it is supposed to give you a matte finish that lasts all day. WELL. I must have really oily skin because even with this on, I was still shining like crazy. I paid $36 for this and it just did not work out for my skin. So, if you are someone looking for a primer that not only helps your make up last longer but reduces the shine on your face as well, I'd suggest a different primer. I have yet to find the perfect one. However, I did recently purchase Cover FX's Clear Prep FX Matte Foundation Primer and will review it in the future.

TheBalm
Shady Lady Vol. 2

I loved the eyeshadow colors in this palette when I first saw it. Looking back, I think the day that I bought it I was just in one of those "shopping moods". Right when I saw it, I swatched it on my finger and thought it was really pigmented. (I'm no make-up artist! Just another girl who loves make up!) So, I thought I'd try it out. I purchased it and used it enough times to think "What a waste of money." The color payoff when applied to the eyes is not that great. I would think you'd have to wet your brush each time to get a good color payoff. (...which I have not tried.) I played with the eyeshadows one last time before I decided to officially return the palette and they still did not blend well for me. I swatched it on my finger and then rubbed it on my hand and the color just did not stick. Maybe it's me but I just did not like it. This palette cost $39.50, I believe. My BH Cosmetics palettes have a ton of shadows that I thought worked way better than these and were way less expensive!

Thankfully, I purchased these two at Sephora! I LOVE SEPHORA! If you all don't know, they have the best return policy EVER - basically, RETURN ANYTIME! Who doesn't love that?! I also love Nordstrom for the same reason. Those two places definitely know how to treat their customers which is one of the reasons I keep going back! :)

That's all for my rant of the night. Anybody have a different experience with these two products? Please share!

Thanks for stopping by!
